Leonard Ravenhill, E.M. Bounds, and Charles Spurgeon on prayer. May the church be again reminded of the true importance and power of the prayer closet.

  • Obviously you are referring to "prayer" as something other than what these men are referring. Prayer is not brainless quietude, its interaction with the God of the Universe, relationship with the Divine, communion with the Creator. Granted, this is the definition of prayer as would be derived from the Bible and not from Eastern religion.

  • I have never seen you, Philo2006, but I believe that you exist. I may not be inviting your critique, and may not prefer your cynicism in my universe, and yet, you are still there. You are not imaginary. The same is true with you and God. You may not prefer Him in your universe, you may not care for His opinion on the matter, but that doesn't cause Him to cease existing. Your dislike of the idea of God doesn't make Him imaginary.

  • For all those that are arguing and both are Christians...here is a riddle. What's a pagans entertainment? Watching 2 Christians fight. Become humble love one another and pray for each other. God will hear the cry of the righteous and will open the eyes of those being lead astray. Lean not on your own understanding but on the Lords. :)

  • @Philos2006 You are projecting! Just because GOD doesn't answer your prayers does not mean that he doesn't answer other peoples. Proverbs 15:29 “The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous" or John 9v31; "Now we know that God hears not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and does his will, him he hears." Your unbelief does not negate reality! Jump from a plane without a parachute and say to yourself; "I don't believe in gravity" wont matter; you'll die

  • @Philos2006 You again! Don't be a bitter backslider. Your questions, objections, and mockery only prove the point even more; you hate GOD and you are in love with yourself, and your sins! Do you attack santa claus this way? How bout the easter bunny? Do you refute the existence of the flying sphagetti monster?

Of course not, your GOD-given conscience knows that you don't have to face them on judgment day, but oh the horror of knowing that one day you will breathe your last and face a Holy GOD!

  • @Maxfli82 2 years on how is yr prayer life now ?

  • @setapartlife Brilliant! May God bless you!

  • I'm a chirstian and I feel convicted by this video, my prayer life is weak, that probably explain why i feel my growth is also weak.

A point about yourself, I point out that: you call the books of the gospels a lie. After some discussion, you lie about me, or unknowingly in ignorance of what I have written, misrepresent me. I suspect you are in fact, troll'n the Christians for your entertainment.

  • @tallliza

You have misrepresented me. Either you haven't read all that I said, or you are simply a liar.

"unwilling to admit that the bible authorises the beating of slaves to death."

I said that God allowed for it, he allowed for all of humanity at that juncture to do it.

Later on, the Covenant changed, and so did the way in which God dealt with man. We are supposed to be merciful and forgiving if we are not, then God will not be merciful or forgiving at the Final Judgement.

  • @tallliza "The bible can not be the word of a loving god."

And here you miss the point entirely. The new testament actually makes it clear we are not supposed to be like the old testament believers of God who beat slaves to death. Why? Because Jesus didn't pick up that rock and lead the stoning of a woman caught in adultery. The followers of Christ are not allowed to beat slaves to death. Read Paul's letter to Philemon WRT the escaped slave.
