Hi, thanks for the upload. I have some questions:
Is this the Udu Utar from LP, or another one (shouldn't be different right?).
How did you record the sound? When I play on my Udu Utar (just bought a week ago), I don't get the striking sounds, but this might be becouse I don't use a microphone.
What sort of ring (under the Udu) do you use? The one I got from LP has a small ring which is not good for stability. Thanks.

Oh I didn't mean that in a negative way! Sorry. Yeah I had no idea. I just assumed it was some kind of visual showmanship or something.

Well. It may look funny but it is amazingly effective. It allows you to create a sound with a very soft and round texture. It acerbates the incredible depth of sounds and textures that can be created with the udu and just another level of finessing the air that moves around the drum.

When using this technique you can actually continue to create a sound and control the pitch even if you lift your hand off the drum shell completely. Just a suggestion if your interested. If you can't hear the music then try using either headphones or by turning up the volume. On the other hand – “Funny” is good as well…

The sound possibilities on this drum is virtually endless, such an amazing instrument

I agree. The Utar has the lowest of the lows and the highest of the highs with-in Frank Giorgini's Claytone Line of udu's. As with all of his wonderful magical drums you loss yourself inside them...
