1929 Lindsay Air Compressor with a Merkel Motorwheel Engine

Took a roadtrip over the weekend to MA and brought back this little gem. It's a 1929 Lindsay air compressor that is powered by an engine made up of the top end of a Merkel Motorwheel engine and the rest made by Lindsay. It runs pretty good, but I have some more tinkering to do.

wow i have got to get one of those! i like old air compressors but i also like old engines thats the best of both worlds! the only engine powered air compressor i have is a 1960's binks powered by the

S-8D wisconsin i have in some of my vids.

If you want to get your hands on one of these, you better grab the first one you see, because you may never see another for sale. They're not cheap either. I had to sell one of my kids to get this one!

Merkels are incredibly rare. Fully restored ones can go for as much as $20,000-30,000. The first Indian motorcycles were made with these engines.

Wow, nice find. Runs good for being around for so long. Always liked the older machines from the newer ones! More well built and reliable! Easier to work on too!

i guess you must have really wanted that bad!! well i would say its probaby quieter around there with 1 less kid but your engines fix that problem! lol
