My '83 RX-7, showing off the side-exit exhaust that I did just for kicks. The system has a stock exhaust manifold, two Rotary Engineering glasspacks, and a set of resonated tips. It's quieter, flows better, and sounds much nicer than the stock muffler with no cats that was on the car before. The motor is a streetported 4-port 13B fed by a Weber 45 DCOE.

  • When you say you have two glasspacks, did you just install two of them end-to-end, or does the exhaust split, then have two of them side-by-side?

Oh, and you have the best sound RX7 ever, really. I love the whine they make and how fast they can rev.

  • Thanks. This setup did sound good. It had a funny rushing-air noise at WOT, though, which I attributed to turbulence in the crappy Monza tips.

The glasspacks were installed end-to-end. They barely fit. There was literally no straight pipe in the system until the exit, just the glasspacks and a couple of small bends. No way could I have done this if I'd had a header at the time. (Not that I'd have wanted to; it would have been ridiculously loud with a header.)

  • Get an E-fan!

  • It's on my to-do list.

  • For me this video I note with 0 points. either the guy is an idiot or he is stupid! before making your car video, technical lis reviewed because the existing normal we should not draw dedant a cold but still less with a rotary! asshole I know stupid but I like you know much!

  • The French version makes more sense than this translation, and I don't know French.

I'm guessing you're telling me that I shouldn't rev the engine when it's cold? If so, it was fully warmed up. The oil temperature was about 160F (71C) when I made the video. You can see the oil temperature gauge in the center console. The coolant temperature gauge in the dash doesn't work very well. The needle barely moves.
