@fej426 They claim that it was a king wile it actually was a puffed up frenchmen. Doesn't seem legit to me.

@TheSatanicEmperor why did belgium have a king on the 21 first of july 1831? i don't think occupied countries dont have kings or presidents of their own

@Frenchkisssss Sorry, Spinoza was born in Amsterdam, only his parents came from Portugal. Of course, you are right, Descartes is from France, but he lived and worked a long time in the Netherlands.
I chose these people not because of where they were born (as you can see) but because they show what was possible in the Netherlands at the time, given the relative freedom of religion and speech and a healthy academic climate. Napoleon I have no strong opinions about. Cheers :)

One would think Napoleon's brother Louis was part of our history since he was the official King of the United Netherlands back in the days, being a puppet of his brother, he was alot better for the people than his older brother in every way.
After Louis' reign the United Netherlands came into Napoleons hands for a couple more years making us part of the French Empire of old, and you claim Napoleon has no part in our history?
It's just as much our history as it is yours.
Consider this just me being curious, but why did you use in the part you tell about the Hunebed builders music from the Efteling and het Volk van Laaf?

@Klokhuisjes It's just my (weird) sense of association. When I thought about music for the Hunebed builders, I immediately thought about this tune, don't ask me why =) I hope you like it nevertheless.
