TORONTO — The new towering double-decker Airbus A380 has touched down at Toronto's Pearson International Airport.
Emirates Airlines says it's the aircraft's first commercial flight to Canada.
Over 500 passengers and cabin crew are believed to be on board the Dubai-to-Toronto flight.
The A380 is the world's only twin-deck, four-aisle airliner.
It's about eight storeys tall, has a wingspan of about 80 metres and includes luxuries like on-board shower spas and communal lounges.
Emirates has been flying three flights a week between Toronto and Dubai since October 2007.
Adding the A380 jet increases the capacity for the route and takes advantage of upgrades made at the airport to accommodate larger aircraft.
oh yeah like I need a shower in the air
