@teresasbirds You do know how old they can get?
And the training is not extremely hard, it's just an amount of time you have to spend with it. After all, if you have a macaw, you do have to have the time to be with them anyway cuz they need it.
I wouldn't do it but in the end it's everyone's own choice.

Yes the baby is clipped. As are all my birds . I think that clipping is a personal thing and I also think it is our responsibility as pet owners to provide a reasonably safe environment for our pets. So if your home is safe for a flighted bird and you have the knowledge to call one back if it gets out then that is your choice and life style. Me I have Grand children and a door is for ever being left open and am not trained in free flight so am not comfortable taking those kinds of risk.
