Finale NotePad Tutorial and Piano Lesson

This is part of my piano method, introducing the song Fine Musician. Finale NotePad is no longer free, and the past free versions (which you need to do these notation transformations) are no longer available on the Finale website. However I have a private link for Finale NotePad 06.

how do i add a fermata

Click on the Articulation Tool (an accent sign). Then click on the note where you want the fermata or pause. A selection box of articulations appears, including the fermata. Select it. If you play your file, you will find that the fermata actually works!

@arjean0110 there is also MuseScore- I have this, it might be a little tricky to get used to, but it is free and it offers a few things that finale cannot; like unlimited staves, better page layout, a more organized notation format... etc.

So this program lets you create your own music sheet, add notations and prints it, instead of printing music sheet and writing the notations by hand?
