Pre Nevermind, recorded at Smart Studio's April 91. I actually prefer this version of "Sappy" to the quote/un-quote semi official one.

I made the video as a tribute to kurt.

  • God, what a fucking brilliant song.Never understood why it never made onto their albums--- I first heard it on a bootleg Cd called "Rough Tapes" nearly 16 years ago..man, how time flies.

It was later re-recorded for a possible inclusion on In Utero, but

I've always thought it should have been on Nevermind. I always thought it would have sounded perfect on the second half of the album, inbetween Drain You and Lounge Act.

Easily my favourite "non album" Nirvana song. Awesome.

  • yes it has.

    that's so cool i think ;)

    KURT KOBAIN <3

  • fantastic.

  • The solo in this one is WAY better than the one released.

  • prefer this version

  • I fucking love this solo!!!!!

It´s the best one I´ve ever heard!

  • Man... I never knew Kurt but I hate the fact that he is dead, if there is anyone on this planet I wish I knew it would be him. RIP

  • @Lamefunday I dunno-all my years of listening to it,I felt it would be right at home on the second half of Nevermind. It just has that sheer quality, emotion and heartfelt fragility that he did so well. Great guitar solo too. This version has that classic Nevermind feel, that takes me back to hearing the album for the first time, and Ive always included it into the mix when I listen to the album. That said, theres something magic about it being a hidden gem, shining on its own away from the albums.

  • @kylereece1979 I know your comment is a year old, but thank god this song wasnt on In Utero especially Nevermind, this song would most likely be Nirvana's Overrated song, it's just too amazing and underrated, it always sounds fresh when I play it over and over.

  • the smart session was in 1990, not 1991.
