  • Ty for the tut, helped me alot.

    I Oc'ed my 955 be to 3.6, I got Mugen 2 rev b.

and I notice that before and after OCing the temp didnt change... Is that normal?

  • @TheMatias2 The Mugen 2 is a pretty good CPU cooler. So yes.

  • @XCARxPILExUPX soooo i shouldn't use the normal fan that most computers come with to overclock my 955?

  • So after that i OVERCLOCK , should I run a stress run ? if yes, with what program and what is the right temp, or a stable overclock? thanks

  • @gambaownsus Try "Prime95". Just choose "In place large FFTs" after running prime95. You can download it for free. Your CPU (955) shouldn't reacht 65°. Best Temp ist between 50 - 60° in load. OC your CPU in small steps when you are unsure.

  • @67CopperHead Lol... 1.35V + 0.125V = 1.475. Are you bad at math?

  • my 955 makes 3,8 ghz with stock voltage(1,4v) and 4 ghz with 1,45v fully stable in benchmarks and games. i have a gigabyte 890fxa-ud5 mobo...

  • Dude I'm sorry but you don't have to bump the voltage to go 3.6GHz.

I got as far as 3.9GHz (and 4.2 un) STABLE with NO Voltage increase... ;)

  • Dude I just got this CPU, but why not up the FSB, isn't that like a better performance increase compared to upping the multiplier?

  • I OC my 955 to 3.6 ghz on stock voltage runs stable never crashes., 3.7 crashed only after 4+ hours of Battle Field 3 on max settings. Download AMD OverDrive. Install open go to Clock/Voltage, Go down to Clock make sure select all cores is checked. Increase to 18x apply and boom. You won't fry your chip with multipliers. Your computer will only restart. as well once you reboot it'll go back to stock. 60 Cels is ideal. But, I run mine at 67 C happily. Above 70 is bad news.

  • @Blaze11000 I OC my 955 to 3.6 ghz on stock voltage Download AMD OverDrive. Install go to Clock/Voltage, Go down to Clock make sure select all cores is checked. Increase to 18x apply. Safe and stable. 3.7 crashes after a few hours. 18.5x...80+ Cels will slowly kill your chip. 60's are fine CPUID HWmonitor best for heat.. GoodLuck! CPU-Z is a program that tells you your current clocks on all hardware. Don't use your Motherboard for OC its dangerous. As well as upping volts.

  • Seems the stock cooler can handle 3.6 just fine. It's noisy as hell though. I got the 955BE around the time it came out and it's been awesome value for the money. Now I ran into this video and decided to give it a go, so thanks. =)

  • i have x2 and originally the motherboard set the cpu voltage to 1.4 v... any ideas? when i lower, bf3 starts crashing...

  • dude...3.2 to 3.6?....you can do that shit with the stock cooler....amd wants you to..
