A strange version of Mira o Norma." It has variants that differentiate it of the one that today have as standard.
Inclusive it seems that the soprano and the mezzo have some exchanged paragraphs.
As always, Alma Gluck, the Romanian soprano, has an excellent performance. Louise Homer doesn't lag behind and she is also heard very well.
How intriguing! Just re-read Homer's excellent bio by her daughter; This recording is a gem Where are pictures of Homer??? These are all Gluck

I've always thought of this pairing as a curiosity since, as far as I know, neither Gluck nor Homer was associated with Norma or Adalgisa, respectively. Gluck, in particular, with her chiming lyric soprano, would never have sung the role on stage. (Beverly Sills, who did sing Norma in the opera house, was quite challenged.) Also, the variants, especially in the second portion, are bizarre. Not a typical performance from either artist, yet still good to hear. Thanks to both Doug and jfsanin.

The voices and singing "per se" are excellent but the drama is more Sunday Services style rather than Druid. But glad to have heard it.
Thanks for posting "jfsanin" and to "paulostroff99" for forwarding.
