Ok. So here it is. I know this for a FACT. Joe sumner and his group fiction plane are quite original. They did not know that their name was an anagram of infant police. In fact, on an interview, it was mentioned, and they were stunned and quite embarrassed! Coincidence? Yes it is. And I am not going to stop loving fiction plane because of it.

Well fuck it. If it worked for Sting, why not. I'm a huge Sting and The Police fan and have been since Regatta De Blanc was released. I saw Fiction Plane support The Police at Twickenham, and I actually thought they sounded better than the main act, although in all fairness that was down to some piss poor FOH mixing for The Police. I've got no problem if Fiction Plane wanna go down that route, I dont believe they are anyway, and I dont think its a deliberate cash in either.

The Fiction Plane clip you played is from 2 Sisters which is a TRIBUTE song TO the Police that Fiction Plane wrote when they heard they had got the support for the Police Tour - so it is hardly a fair comparison. Try listening to some Fiction Plane music instead of taking the one song where there are comparisons. They ROCK. They are also much louder and far more alternative than the Police ever were - and much MUCH rockier.

yes Joe is Sting's Son and they sound very much alike on some stuff but fiction play also has some stuff that is less reggae-ish and more alternative

I SAW JOE'S FIRST BAND IN TORQUAY AND THEY SOUNDED NOTHING LIKE THE POLICE, JOE PLAYED GUITAR AND THEY WERE A FOUR PIECE...NOW A THREE PIECE WITH JOE ON BASS AND SOUNDING LIKE THE POLICE?.... OH SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU KNOW NOTHING.
