@SadisticMystic I figured agility would not be of any help since speed would not be necessary for the combo scyther/abra. I was thinking more of an independent team, more of a scyther with a slash/swords dance/ hyper beam/(?) and scope lens(?) for higher critical ratio, for the physical power, where abra would kick in for the special sweep and deal with the ghosts and so on instead of chansey and stuff. Abra seems good with psychic/ (3 punches? electric/ice/fire) and twistedspoon

BTW Elekid won by 2 frames, TWO FRAMES

Slowpoke's ball went up faster, but Cubone inched ahead and then Elekid who knocked out slowpoke's text went faster so Elekid still won anyway

Abra & Scyther would make a great team imo. (and then staryu)

You'd definitely want to use a different Scyther repertoire if you tried that, because this particular one is only good for setting up Cubone: by giving it a Swords Dance and an Agility, Cubone becomes fast enough and powerful enough to go first and get an instant KO against any opponent that can possibly appear in the cup (barring priority moves).
Abra doesn't need the speed, and gets no help whatsoever from Swords Dance. Additionally, Staryu has a large amount of overlap here.

I merely explained that we agree on one thing, the ending of your video. Though we're debating on how it happened, we still came with the same conclusion. Yes it's true about our explinations. Yours is fact, as where mine is opinion. I know. It is your video. I was only saying what's on my mind, even if it wasn't truth. That's why I say things, to get the truth. Regardless, I'm impressed now. Not just video wise. I feel that we are at least good debaters. Still a good video. :)

You could come up with the same conclusion by using "higher combined Pokedex numbers" as a tiebreaker. Doesn't mean that's not an utterly stupid way to resolve the decision.
Your metric "least damage taken...but only over the course of battle 8, because we can't add in the previous 7 or it throws off the results" is on similarly shaky ground. In any case, when facts resolve a situation completely, introducing subjective judgments ("opinions") is not just pointless but detrimental.

I never said you did use HP to determine the victors. In fact, your way to determine the winners by instant replay was actually the better way. On my part, I was saying, in case the replays don't add up, another possiblity would be to consider HP left between both teams. And in some sports, in case there is no possible winner, example "Boxing", they do base a winner of certain points. As to the Football point, you're right. Either way, I did enjoy this 8 Pkmn, tag team match. :)

Even in that event, you would essentially be saying forget everything that happened in the first 7 battles in order to come up with that conclusion. Taken over all 8 battles, Elekid and Gastly took a combined 154 damage (56 self-inflicted from Explosion); Scyther and Cubone took only 78.
