Here's a vid of my pieced together Federal Model 2 siren. I used a chopper motor from a thunderbolt and got a stator from Federal. I made the base and leg assembly from leftover material at work. This one finally runs right because it has a new field in it to go with the replacement armature.

  • @LouisvilleTorn8o The thunderbolt chopper is a universal series motor.

  • @murrfarms It's not a repulsion motor it's a universal series motor I believe.

  • @murrfarms The best repultion motor I've ever heard is the chopper motor in the Doss High School Thunderbolt here in Louisville, KY. That thing is almost as steady as a Modulator.

  • Nice job.

  • @shorttman1968 Series Motors almost always waver

  • These little guys never cease to amaze me at how loud they are for their size. I was quite surprised the first time I ran one of mine on full voltage, definitely wasn't expecting it to be quite that loud! Sounds like you've got it working good now.

  • @shorttman1968 That's how they all do, never seen a repulsion motor that runs real smooth.

  • sound like its kind wavering.
