Sneak preview of Benjamin Till's A Symphony for Yorkshire - BBC

A Symphony for Yorkshire is a new and unique piece of music commissioned by the BBC which will be broadcast on Yorkshire Day, the first of August.

The four movements have been composed by Benjamin Till and the lyrics were written by Doreen Brigham, a 98-year-old great-grandmother from Harrogate.

The complete symphony will be broadcast on BBC Radio York on August 1 at 11 am. BBC Look North broadcasts one of the four movements from the symphony each night from Monday 2 to Thursday 5 August.

The full symphony will also be available online from 11:15 am on August 1.

My sincere sympathies to anyone reading this comment who can claim no Yorkshire connections and thank you to Ben Till for celebrating our Yorkshire Day so eclectically and memorably! Next year there'll be border crossings and passports to ensure our fabulous county is free from plundering Londoners.
