The 3rd annual Christmas Tree burning from the BRE Centre for Fire Safety Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. With some data analysis added. The data representation is only approximate and the 'Fire Power' graph is slightly delayed with respect to the video, but it gives some idea of what's going on, in approximately real time.

  • Hi. We have a standard furniture calorimeter, in accordance with the ASTM E2067 standard. Googling that should give you all the details you need.

  • The fire test was carried out under the hood of a furniture calorimeter. We were measuring mass loss, oxygen depletion, carbon dioxide production and carbon monoxide production. The analysis (which the graphics are only an approx representation of) was carried out using the standard ASTM method.
