Liberty Templeman 's Last Moments
Liberty, 15, was found face down in a Kerikeri creek on November 1, 2008. The Crown contends the accused, aged 14 at the time, beat her unconscious, strangled her and left her to drown.

In her closing address, the boy's lawyer, Catherine Cull urged the jury to bring back a manslaughter verdict, not murder.

"This is a trial about to the degree to which the accused is criminally liable for the death of Liberty Templeman.
