Shadow the Hedgehog was good for wat it was: a spin-off. It had a lot of levels, different missions, and introduced the eariliest forms of the Red Star Rings (remember those keys?)

The trouble with all of the various Sonic characters is that they were mostly shined in the game they were introduced. Tails was pretty awesome to play as in Sonic 3 & Knuckles (although they cut him out of doomsday zone and required you to get the Super Emeralds just to transform...which only happened because the programmers in Sonic 2 were lazy and didn't want to make a Super Tails...), but really:
Tails: Saved Sonic in Sonic 2.
Knuckles: WAS the plot of Sonic 3.
Shadow: WAS the plot of SA2.

@MegaX432 I actually played 2 player with my older brother just a bit before I read this comment! You're right, it's still a great game. It was like we were playing it 10 years ago for the first time again! Yeah, Sonic Adventure 2 still withstands the test of time and it'll remain in my heart for years to come :]

I'm serious,played it a couple days ago and I love it EVEN MORE
when I was younger,I hated the treasure hunting levels;now I actually can have fun playing them (except Mad Space,I'll always hate Mad Space)

i love shadow the hedgehog because the game is almost like cod 7 black ops except there are multiple storylines in shadow the hedgehog, while black ops is two stories into one. and killing black arms with shadow's weapons is like playing zombies, not to mention shadow's SPECIAL weapon box.

@MegaX432 I felt the same way with Sonic Heroes. It's sad! Now I don't want to replay Sonic Adventure 2 and ruin my great memories with that game.

It's gotten to the point where Sonic games can only be enjoyed by fans.
Screw IGN, this game made it worth getting a gamecube for christmas when I was 10.
Music is the best part of Sonic, and shadow's themes PWN all.
