Please join us in congratulating Amy Magyar for winning the Outdoor Industries Women's Coalition 2010 Snow Sports Industry Pioneering Woman Award.

The OIWC's mission is to equip, educate and support women in the outdoor industries to recognize their professional goals. The Pioneering Woman Award was created to honor women in the outdoor industry who have furthered the vision of the OIWC by demonstrating an outstanding commitment to mentoring female colleagues.

The OIWC presentation ceremony took place on January 30th, at the SIA Snow Show in Denver. Chuck Mason, VP of NA Sales Operations, presented Amy with this award and recognized her accomplishments throughout her 15 year snow sports career in front of a crowd filled with industry peers and many of Burton's employees and top retailers.

Among her many pioneering efforts, Amy was Peter Glenn Ski and Sports first hardgoods snowboard buyer, Galyans first female hardgoods ski buyer and Burtons first Director of Softgoods Sales. Most recently, Amy shifted from sales to a service role, where she is now managing our world-class service team, while infusing her staff and customers with her passion, consideration and commitment.

As a member of the OIWC, the GORE Womens Council and the WLI, Amy devotes professional and personal time to such worthy endevors as co-chairing the Burton Women's Mentoring Network, participating in Burton's Women's Leadership Initiative, encouraging coaching programs among her peers, and helping orchestrate events such as Burton's Women's Leadership Day.
