Sadly songwriting has moved in the opposite direction...

Great song, which still sounds brilliant today. :-)

@eltonjazz That was a different Peter Shelley who wrote for Alvin Stardust (and, for My Coo-Ca-Choo was actually the singer). The other Peter Shelley had two solo hits, Gee Baby and Love Me Love My Dog, He could never in a million years have come up with the genius of Promises or What Do I Get.

Aumenta o volume que isso aí é o mais puro rock'n'roll!.
Essa banda, The Buzzcocks, fez parte da minha linda juventude...
Velhos tempos, belos dias....

best intro ever.

Awesome band and having seen them many times, in the late 70's/early 80's they sounded BETTER than they did on vinyl, it was a band that kicked out quality time after time after time

The Buzzes as i loved to call then in the 70's/80's are a band that I lurved then and still do now , even with a Family 21 year son/ 18 year old daughter. Pete shelley actually wrote for alvin stardust, with great success. UUGH, everyone has taste I suppose????

This song was released in 1978. Music videos were a novelty back then, and an after thought. The timelessness of this song is a testament to its quality.
