well to be honest the customs of ancient israel is pretty much the root of what we know today as islam,christianity,judaism. the bible whether it was translated correctly or not was all about israel, the 1st century AD was roman oppression of israel mainly the tribe of judah. some 300 yrs later romans decided to get together and create a state religion based on events some 3yrs ago mixed in pagan elements changed some names and added attributes and created the person of jesus christ
