Marriage is basically gender neutral in Skyrim. Any marriageable character will agree regardless if your character is male or female.

You have great taste my friend, sure vilkas is smart, looks the same but there is something about farkas...is he still a werewolf? it does influence my choices.

@ForsetiLover Farkas is a werewolf until you choose to accept a quest to cure him (which is completely optional).

Ugh! I have tried over and over again but Farkus won't notice that I'm wearing the amulet of Mara!:(

@MsVanna011 Have you completed the Companion's Questline? Have you spoken to Maramal about marriage at the Bee and Barb Inn in Riften? Are you wearing an Amulet of Mara?
