  • if you can delete them when there's just one by itself, it defeats the purpose of the entire game. you can basically just click everywhere as fast as possible with no strategy.

  • You are totally right - thats why is called simple:)

  • this is great!

    i will sub

  • Thank you I am currently working on new staff. I will post it once its ready.

  • @TsarStudio You have to include SDL-mixer.

But... USE SFML! It's a much faster library, and it's very simple and easy to use for beginners. It's also C++ if you wanted to use it. You should PM me about it. Here's a simple game I've created with SFML. (Not done yet.):

  • I really like this, I'm just getting started with sdl and was wondering something (since you probably got more experience by now): does sdl include audio or do I have to include some other thing with it?

  • @Grundoko lazyfoo website and LusikkaMage tutorials on youtube are really good for start.

  • @Grundoko I have started learning game programming the same way. I really recommend LusikkaMage tutorials - I was also using lazyfoo tutorials when I moved from Allegro to SDL

  • @Incogneto100 I'd recommend you start off by learning from the tutorials by LusikkaMage. She has tutorials for using both Allegro and SDL (Allegro is easier to use, but SDL is more common), and she makes great tutorials that don't baby feed you, but give you the knowledge you need to do it yourself.

*She describes it as giving you the pieces to a puzzle, and then telling you to put it together*

    That's how I'm learning anyway.

  • That's a really cool game for your first with sdl

  • nice one

  • I know c++ up to the point of object oriented programming;composition, inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation bound in the principle of least privilege. So how can extend on that to lean to start building game like these. I'm really fascinated by it.

  • @KuriosMetallica I think SDL is easier 'cuz SDL got a well designed API. Unlike Allegro ...

  • that's the "samegame", i've done this with the java's 2d library, but now i have to do one game in c++ for educational purposes.

so does anyone knows if sdl is easier than allegro graphic engine?
