Stephen Bassett jest politycznym aktywistą, lobbystą, sprawozdawcą, felietonistą i organizatorem konferencji. Jest założycielem Paradigm Research Group, twórcą Paradigm Clock, dyrektorem wykonawczym komitetu X-PPAC oraz konferencji X-Conference. Od 1996 roku S. Bassett asystuje zarówno wielu organizacjom, jak i inicjatywom:
1) zakończenia embargo nałożonego przez rząd na wiele do dziś niepotwierdzonych faktów,
2) dążenia do wszczęcia śledztwa i wysłuchania przed Kongresem świadectwa wielu byłych wojskowych oraz pracowników rozmaitych agencji ochrony, którzy twierdzą, że byli świadkami wielu spraw związanych z fenomenem ufo.

Występował w wielu stacjach radiowych i telewizyjnych, a także w kilku filmach dokumentalnych, szeroko poruszając kwestię implikacji tematu "Disclosure".
