The Public Option is not an attempt to get rid of private insurance, hence the word "option". All this talk about a government take over is fear mongering by politicians who have their pockets lined by insurance companies. Same thing with oil. Same thing with overseas banks.

The reality is Republican or Democrats are a charade used to divide and conquer. Republicans are supposed to stand for less government meddling and Democrats for Civil Rights but again, this is just a charade.
