I'm going to assume that the hole stick girl fals into, is the proverbial hole of contract despair. Good for her that a tracfone motorola came to her rescue (!?)

I think maybe the author needs to zoom out to a big picture where there are lots of little stick people stuck in holes. And tenmaybe add a couple of stick diggers with carrier names on it...Maybe go even further and have the stick diggers advertising the rates at which they'll dig holes for people.
