Here's a video on how to install a back-light on a Futaba 7C, using a EL Panel.

I bought the panel here:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/EL-Panel-Blue-Neon-Back-Light-Board-12V-DC-Inverter-/...

Sorry about the quality of the video because i'm doing this with a mobile phone camera.

  • hi,,sorry my question but some people dont remove the silver film from the screm!!!do you tink if i dont remove the silver film work fine?????tanks ,,nice video

  • Hi,

I just ordered one after watching your video.

Did you say I can install the EL Panel from the backside, rather than the FRONT side.?

    Thanks...

  • @Spyro333777 What i meant was that you don't really needed to remove the big main board on the back of the radio. Just free the LCD strip and remove it in order to work on it. After your done just slip the strip through the hole and connect it again. You can the solder the wires without having to displace the Main PCB. My mistake. Failed to explain myself properly.

  • @Juary70

Thanks for making it clear on how to do it.

  • @Spyro333777 No. You need to access the front side in order to detach the LCD and place the EL panel on the back of it. You also need to access the backside of the radio so that you can place all the wires and connect the inverter.
