Remember 2002? Well, if you played Stormfront's and Visceral's third-person action games The Two Towers and Return of the King (or Forgotten Realms: Demon Stone, for that matter) back in the early oughts you'll feel right at home with Lord of the Rings: War in the North, which has the same brawler-esque gameplay sprinkled with light RPG mechanics. It's not one of 2011's more memorable gaming experiences or anything, but I got it for 10 bucks on Impulse and there's just something about the old-fashioned PS2-style semi-tactical button-mashing which makes me smile...
@TheHolandTrip I didn't notice any of the blood while recording this video, but now that you've brought it to my attention I think I like the game *more* for it. Still, there's nothing that stands out about the brutality of this title compared to similar games - and I would strongly argue that this is very far from the gleefully controversial bloodshed of a Mortal Kombat. Such comparisons aside, everyone's of course entitled to their own personal preferences regarding video game violence.

Too gory for my taste. I like smashing and bashing, but this feels to Mortal Kombat-ish, blood-like that is (personal opinion naturally). Both Messiah and Gothic did splendid without all that splattering, but Hey! we're all different.
