wow....too good for my soul. Shosta was a genius

Still Vengerov sounds like "second class".
David Oistrakh and Leonid Kogan have made two legendary recordings of this masterpiece by Shostakovich: "Violin Concerto 1 "
This is as beautiful as music ever can be. Thank you - Shostakovich, Oistrakh and Leonid Kogan!
It is a matter of taste whom you prefer of these two giants. Oistrakhs "Cadenza" is famous. But Kogan is equally impressive! And Kogan has a "line" in his playing that is superhuman! Everything is clear and wonderfully played!

Aw man, this guy is feeling it.
This man is responsible for starting my 11 year obsession with Shostakovich. Thank you Vengerov!

Oh My God, I'm totally in love with Vengerov, this is awesome...

This is one of my all time favorites , and Vengerov played it superbly , like Dmitry was written for him . What a performance was that ?!!! I would be grateful if someone up-loaded the whole video
-
hahaha.. but i realized this is like a video of him 15 years ago...! i think he gained some weight these days, maybe after he stopped playing the violin...
-
If he's pretty, he's pretty. Focus on both *grin*.
-
he looks ghostly and dark, handsome and mysterious. wow! i should try to focus more on the music not his features! :)

This is definitely my favorite interpretation.
Even though Oistrakh is my favorite violinist.
Mr, please please do not take the trouble to respond to maxhansenk, is a poor idiot who tries to play the violin and can not, it's a poor sort frustrated that could not get an autograph of Vengerov and still angry with him, therefore, this poor sick and insane amount of garbage written, stupid and meaningless crap that you and many of us read in all the channels where there are videos of Vengerov.

I've just read through all the comments on here, and they are really not connected with this video of Vengerov. His performance here may not be his best, but we are allowed to play our own interpretation of this piece if we want. He has played so many pieces, and all of which have deep meaning and expression.
