same here...was raised not to far from Seymour, moved to Illinois, when i get homesick i always play this song.

@skovol007 I see. Everytime i hear this song they play this and a springsteen song back to back and to me the voices sound almost identical.

@graduateclass08 This IS the original version. John Mellencamp wrote it about growing up in Seymour, Indiana. But, now that you mention it, I can kind of envision Springsteen doing a version of it.

haha...Seymour IN is very small indeed...it always makes me laugh when I see him trying to hitch a ride on I65...yeah he got out of there ...he moved to Bloomington IN--where IU is--a very cool small town indeed--me I live in another small town also in central IN...and like all his music
