@Synthiotics I was there around Day of the Dead & this was a mistake because many museums were closed. It rained like heck all day one day. I just don't advocate Europe during the Summer. I was fully satisfied with everything in Antwerp but picked up a cold vibe. I just adored the Horta Café. We went several times, including lunch, & it is the best breakfast in Europe! We found a working person café near the market and had a fantastic breakfast, too, only during market hours.

@Synthiotics No, not a typo, I am a writer and try to check what I post. The vibe in Antwerp was totally cold, but I liked it, as I am a former NYer and live in Paris, France and am used to cold people. Money is honey in Antwerp! If you don't have it, good luck! This being said, a lady in the greenmarket gave me back correct change for lovely sausage when I was not paying attention and advised me to mind myself! I really appreciated her honesty!

I live in Paris now and am American, and really like Belgium for visits. Antwerp was one of the coldest cities I've ever known, in ways I cannot explain -- you do need money. If you have it, even a little, you can see amazing things here and I found the people honest. It all seemed very James Bondian to me! I recommend the Horta Café for the best breakfast in Europe in such a setting and service beyond compare. Also good for other meals, too.
