The Mongols Shirt is available for pre-order now! http://dft.ba/mongols

In which John Green explores exactly when Rome went from being the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire. Here's a hint: it had something to do with Julius Caesar, but maybe less than you think. Find out how Caesar came to rule the empire, what led to him getting stabbed 23 times on the floor of the senate, and what happened in the scramble for power after his assassination. John covers Rome's transition from city-state to dominant force in the Mediterranean in less than 12 minutes. Well, Rome's expansion took hundreds of years, he just explains it in under 12 minutes. The senate, the people, Rome, the caesarian section, the Julian calendar and our old friend Pompey all make appearances, but NOT the Caesar Salad, as Julius had nothing to do with it.

Doesn't anyone else just come here to learn for fun as opposed to only being here to cram? I'm a 25 year old carpenter, obviously I am not here to cram.

I wish I was here cramming, all our GCSE history course covers is, 'A history of medicine and treatment in Britain from c1350 - c1950' and the extension topic 'Public health in Roman Britain - c1350' believe me the history of medicine is not a brief one -_-

5:25 Jennifer Lopez had the same problem as Cleopatra, that being they've both bet on Marc "the wrong horse" Antony. Coincidence -- I think not... During this same time J Lo was going out for the lead role in the new movie 'Cleopatra' 2010-ish , When she lost it to Angelina Jolie, J Lo soon left Marc Antony as well... I think this is taking method acting too far, don't you :)

I found this channel through my interest in science and at first I only watched Hank's episodes. But despite the fact that I have not studied history past GCSE, I am finding this series very interesting. So thank you John Green.

Also nice Holden Caulfield shirt at the end there. The Catcher in the Rye is my favourite novel :)

There was a baby stuck to Augustus's leg.

Maybe that's why they had to amputate it.
