Are you sure this is from the PS2 version? Because the DS version is exactly the same

Yes, I recorded it off of a real actual PS2.

The PS2, DS and PSP versions are all ported from the original PC games. Except that the in-game content is different for DS.

Maybe its just me, but it sounded like when the intro started (at 0:58) you just used the PC version of ys2's music, which makes sense because the PS2 ports of these songs(all of the tracks from both games) tend to be terrible for some reason.

I don't know why but I just feel the intro for the TG16 to be better. Song wise, the intro is amazing and even though both are the same song the theme from the first just seems more intoxicating.

Great, stylish intro. Just saw it for the first time, having finished Ys Complete a couple hours ago. My two favourite scenes are the threatening image of those demons, and Adol's big jump through the clouds (which looks pretty unnerving itself!). Excellent bridging of the two games.
