Tom Russell in my opinion is America's greatest
songwriter. Here he is performing Stealing Electricity on the Letterman Show.

  • @bpalmer367 So he really likes Tom Russel, that's an opinion and he's entitled to it. Calling an opinion ignorant purely because you don't agree with it is bigoted.

  • great song, but rjwald, saying that you think he is america's greatest songwriter is probably the most ignorant thing i've ever read/heard in my life

  • How cool that Tom's song was played after our song "Poor People" today on WUCX-FM Eclectic Chair. We are on a similar wavelength and I see he'll be playing in our hometown Monday. Kewl. I'm glad to know about Tom Russell now. Didn't Paul and his band sound awesome with him on this show! Write on! Rock it,

xo, Kathena from The Hippy Nuts.

  • "There's a Mexican dead on the power line" one of the best opening lines i've ever heard.

  • The man is a living legend. Saw him in Belfast last night. Played most of 'Blood and Candle Smoke' plus classics from his extensive back catalogue. One of the most engaging performers I have ever seen. Had the excellent Thad Beckman on guitar with him. If you get the chance to see him live don't miss it.

  • Saw Tom Russell in Ann Arbor last night. The guy is just amazing: one great song after another. Most from the new CD, plus selected classics. He's someone not to be missed.

  • I saw Tom Russell and Michael Martin in Oslo tonight, and I'm speechless! I'm 17 and have been a fan since I was 3 years old, I've seen him 4 times now, and wow - he only gets better and better. Amazing <3

  • I've met both Tom, and Michael Martin, they are both great guys. I can never get enough of their music.

  • really tough shoes to fill, eh?
