Britain took the side and looked out for the Native Americans in the War of 1812 and American Civil War. And Africans gained wealth because they helped build the railroads around Kenya. Britain built water storage facilities and canals in India cutting the poverty a great deal. I'm pretty sure because they weren't civilized like Europeans that Britain benefitted these societies.

Think of it this way, if I hit you in the face everyday for years and then suddenly decide to stop, it makes me a saint? Any and every Imperial empire is Evil. The US rail roads were bad and caused the death of many natives. Australia had natives who were happy living as it was.
