This is a delicious way to have taco night and not worry about the carbs. I've cut carbs out of my dinner...so this is a great alternative to the Mexican treat!!

  • a taco w/o a taco shell?? "A" for effort.....Y for yuk

  • @clariceave and you get a "C" for close minded lol...see what I did there, huh? LOL...try it....a taco SHELL doesn't make the taco...it's the seasoning and the meat (for us meat eaters). It really doesn't tastes different than an actual taco. If you think this is a "yuck", you must not like salad either, huh? smh...eh..oh well.

  • What a great idea. I started the no card diet 4 days ago and im seeing resukts already. Im getting sick of string cheese chicken and brocoli so this recipe i WILL try out today lol.

  • @oni6903 check out my spaghetti squash video too. So good!

  • Great idea. I was going to try to make it using cauliflower cooked and spread flat and baked crispy. But I like this idea. Must faster to make. Yuumy great job.

  • @Carolearad mmm the cauliflower sound deelish too!

  • Haters gone hate, right..I love this idea girl!

  • @clariceave lol yes this needs a shell. It should not be called 'taco'. However there are low carb flat breads and pitas that can be used to roll up the meat. Try them

  • This video should be called "Tacos Without Shells." There is nothing no-carb about them. Garlic powder, onions, cheese, taco seasoning, salsa & even lettuce all have carbs. They're just tacos the way anybody would usually make them but without shells. Am I missing something?

  • Well, the onion would not be my concern here. If you turn that packet of taco seasoning over and read the carbs it may surprise you. I have found that using only a tablespoon of packet for a pound of meat works really well. Good Luck! And great video!

  • Thank you for the wonderful idea!! I will be making this tomorrow using ground turkey.

  • will be making me some

  • What a great recipe! Thanks!!

  • I adjusted this recipe and added portabello mushrooms to make the meat stretch and to get more veggies in my diet. In stead of putting it in the lettuce leaf, I made a salad and put the mixture on top of the lettuce. Instead of tortilla strips, I added shredded carrots. I also used low sodium taco pack (1-1/2 packs). I don't miss the carbs from the shells!

  • Love you video, I will try it myself :)
