Sawing a spoon crook

This video is covering spoon crooks I plan on doing another one with more information on the crooks. The main point in this is situating the figured wood in the spoons bowl. This is just the beginning and the next videos will follow the carving and finishing process using this exact blank.

I have selected a green section from a Poplar tree that has a branch growing out of it, I picked it up while cutting firewood, I use an Olsons All Pro hard edge 1/4" 4 TPI hook blade on a 12" bandsaw to saw my blanks. You can use a coping or scroll saw if you don't have access to a bandsaw another option would be a hatchet.

!-Always use safety gear, common sense, and be sure your concentrating on what your doing. If you feel unsafe or unsure about doing something, stop, find someone who has done it before to help you or find another way to do it.
