@ragarth The biota are a pain especially if you don't slow down time and you're focusing on something else. I don't like losing people and buildings and I keep all my spacecraft in the space stations.

@Altoman5 Sounds fun. :-D I've never actually gotten beyond gamma myself. My attention tends to peter by then. This play though I feel I'll finish the whole thing. :D I've just about finished exploring the entire inner system and the blobs haven't shown up *quite* yet.

@ragarth Okay cool. As far as the videos, I'm trying to do as much as possible like exploring sites, making more colonies than I usually make, trying to get all the technologies, etc. It all depends how well I do in this game.
-
@Altoman5 My colonies tend to be identical. I have planned exactly what resources are needed to produce x buildings, like my Rhea and gaea colonies follow: 4 mines, 4 p plants, 1 lab, 2 robo fact. At all level 1 this requires 88 humans and 50 robots to maintain. I add 10 robots to cover future buildings. From that I can deactivate stuff to fit any of the other items I'll need later in the game.
As a question: Do you explore more than shown in these videos or are they about average?
-
@ragarth Hey thanks for watching and hope these videos are helping a bit. I'll try to make more whenever I can. I try to use the off-line bug sometimes, but I'm always busy doing something else. I'm curious what you meant by cookie cutter colonies. What do you mean by that?

Heya! I'm playing through alien legacy at the moment as well. What irony that two people would be playing a nearly 2 decade old game at the same time. :-)
I found your channel while looking for information as to where in the game's timeline you get the force field, as well as to pick up any tricks you might use in your game. I myself do things slightly differently: I use cookie cutter colonies and I admit I use the off-line bug for producing things I need (like robots) to save time.

@thedopefish1 No problem. Give it a try when you have the time.

I never played this game--too bad, because it looks like I would have loved it. Thanks for the videos.
the music sounds different. was it because i used the CD version?

@vincendini Yes, the CD version music is different from the floppy disk version. It's probably the main reason I didn't like the CD version as much.
