  • No it's not. You all call it a slackline because you were told it was a slackline, and never had the sense to question the fact it was being pulled tight. A couple of Yosemite climbers pulled a piece of dynamic tape tight, and for reasons known only to them they called it a slackline. The rest just followed like sheep

Slackline slack, tight line tight, dynamic line, guess what it's dynamic. The other two are static

  • You also park in the driveway and drive in the parkway. Cargo is on a ship but a shipment is in a truck! AAAH! ENGLISH DOESN'T ALWAYS FOLLOW DEFINITIONS!

  • Its called a slack line due to the dynamic characteristics of the line, where as tight rope walking uses static line.

  • how about you quit posting on every slackline video asking why it's called a slackline.

Guess what... you're not the only one who realizes that slackines are not actually 'SLACK' or "WITHOUT TENSION"

    deal with it

  • How much tention do you have to put into this tape before you can no longer call it a slack lin???? "SLACK" by definition means "WITHOUT TENSION"
