  • 7years of training under grados and I never touched hands with him this way. I guess that makes me a Guru...

  • This is a Chi Sau (chi shou) exercise called Lap Sau (la shou) it is a very normal excersis that every student of Wing Chun (ving tsun) should practice as it is an integral part of training, most parts are from the first form Si Lim Tau (xiao nian tou) so the next step is Chum Kiu (xun qiao) then Dan Chi Sau followed by this exercise. If you dont learn this then you should not be progressing further than Dan Chi Sau. Thanx for the interest.

  • he was featured in bbc isnt he?

  • he has been featured all around the world for his amazing skills, he will be doing a UK tour in September 2009 - October 2009. Private message me if you are interested in taking part

  • Awesome bro! I thought that was the same Sifu who was on the Human Weapon episode, he's really skilled. Your posture/structure/stance's are very correct, you are privileged to learn so closely from such a skilled Sifu.

  • PERFECT SKILLS

  • looks like the chi sao in this video helps you move - though sifu wang will slap you! -

    :)

  • @sealthedealobasi sifu grados good

  • We're taught in Sweden to always keep our heads far away from our opponents, since we don't have the boxer-forearm-guard.. do you not use this?

  • @Nikoo033 In the WSL family, our interpretation of Bong Sau is a 'helping hand' or a 'failed hit' or if hands are down then we use bong sau to create 'a bridge'. The opponent line of energy maybe stronger than ours, so we apply the bong sau motion through it entire action so we can succesfully deflect their attack. As we don't want to stay in the final bong sau position for long, we practice lap sau drill as it enables us to get out of the bong sau position and attack back quickly!

  • Nice! Good structure both of you! It's cool to see a direct student of WSL engaged in Chi Sau, you can really see the intent behind Sifu Wang's movements towards your center-line. Love this stuff!!

  • @wingchuncrtb

    Hum...I agree,

Just by the way you post your comments,

it truly shows the type of person you are and your knowledge,

Also i question your grammar, On the internet there is something called spell check, If you are to at least criticise something,

Why not check your spelling? A martial artist is not only one that can fight, skills, body condition, it goes much further than that..

It is a test of becoming a better person...Youxia

  • @jaiharman1 Yo fellow WSL WC brother nice work strong waist man, WSLVT all the way BABY :P!!! Shawn Obasi learned from Sifu Grados which follows Sifu Austin Goh right? they seem to focus on trapping hands, comboing techniques and I think they even have Dai Nim Tau (Da Nian Tou)...just weird that they never do Juen Ma + Lap Sao. Shawn Im ur fan in the ring! DIE A WING CHUN MAN :P maybe u called the lap sau drill differently in ur school? just curious tatz all. :P

  • Very ncie video!

  • Brilliant to see a master of the Wong Shun Leung lineage. Master Leung was always more of a fighter than nearly all of Grandmaster Ip Man's students and I can see this in Master Wang's approach too. Interesting when you compare it to the cheerful and cheeky (typical HK humour) approach of Grandmaster Leung Ting for example. When I was young, my master always talked about how Master Wong described Grandmaster Leung as being more a scholar than a fighter. Everyone trains with a different focus.

  • I'm so jealous of you Jaiharman. :-)

I have to practice by myself because there are no Wingchun folks here. Plus I have six children so I don't get out much :-).

I hope you're hanging on to every word and every touch your sifu gives you. It's pure gold I tell you. If I get to be even half as good as him I'll count myself fortunate. Peace.
