  • Hi, your tutorials have been great! But I was just wondering, what tutorial did you refer to for us to look up on youtube if we were stuck for inspiration at 5:56?

  • Hey Supergirl, glad you liked the tutorials.....new vids will be posted within a month or two.

  • Anyway, to render a Movie, besides teh Quicktime? as i am to having the Quicktime movie problem...

  • If you are using a Windows platform, try rendering as an .avi file. Sometimes this will result in an empty file- if it does, change the compression settings to 'Microsoft AVI' or experiment with the other options. Remember, you can also export animation as a series of bitmap stills that are numbered sequentially. It is then a simple process to import the numbered stills into a video editing software package such as Premier or Final Cut.

  • Thanks for the help, but how do you make a background image?

  • Try lining the inside of a large sphere with a 2D texture, then place your other objects inside....

  • simply the best tutorial ever!....i am totally new to maya, i am expert in cad and intermediate in solidworks, your lessons have helped me heaps, my only issue is understanding where all the materials are for rendering, i am used to a library of materials in cad and solidworks, things like metals, woods, glass, plastics etc where are they in this programe?

  • Thanks a lot for the tutorials! Very Helpfull to start with :D

  • Just wanted to say how well all your tutorials were. I am just learning, and have been searching all over for tutorials, and yours are by far the most complete, and easy to use out there. My only suggestion would be possibly to change the title of the lessons to something like Lesson 1 part 1 of 6. Lesson 1 part 2 of 6 It was a bit confusing at first.

Thank you so much for taking the time to do these. Outstanding job.

  • I just wanted to thank you for the time you took out of your schedule to do these Maya Tutorial Videos. I use Autodesk Architectural Desktop in my work. I had no idea what Maya was, or how it could be used to benefit me in any way. I have throughly enjoyed these short sessions on Maya. I am 50 years old. New tricks for an old dog don't come easy. However, your way of presenting Maya, made it easy, fun to learn. I have subscribed to your videos, anticipating some new relaeases. Thanks Again

  • hi mentor.........

i liked your videos but i could not find the order of the session 2...........it seems that some videos in session1 and two have been mixed up.........

u taught me the basics of maya.........thank you ........

i wish you could teach us how to make moving human like structures........

  • maybe later, you can start teaching up particles and lighting!
