This is me jumping my lease horse Prima for the first time, well I jumped her a lot more in this ride but this is the best one. I know this is terrible riding and jumping, but Prima and I are both western pleasure and this is only my 3rd time riding English on her. My friends who ride English were there to give me some riding instruction. Please critique nicely!

  • good job for starting to jump! :D

here are some cool tips that could help you develop your riding skills and your horse!

    1. make sure that you follow the horse. you did a great job at doing that!

    2. i'm sure you've heard of "2-point.." which is when you come out of the saddle and your arms gradually follow up your horse's neck, depending on how high the jump is. make sure your butt comes out of the saddle a bit, and follow the horse's movement. good job for your first!

  • @PalominoGirl979 thx! yeah I'm a lot better now, still doing the cavaletties. I'm joining pony club this friday, any advice

  • good job! you probably just want to make sure you follow horse a little more because when the jumps get bigger your horse will knock rails or fall if you go against the motion=] From expirence =]

  • @barnbrat1952 ok thx! that would bebad:(

  • You need to make your horse have some impulsion. If you jump her and dont you could cause injury

  • @KatrinaDianeTV thx! I'll keep that in mind!

  • @HorsieRider125 ooh.. pony club:) that's fun. yea, my friend is in some sort of pony club club..

my advice? do your best and practice, practice, PRACTICE! :D

  • @horsebabe2110 i agree she also needs to squeeze with her legs to get the balance she needs for her half seat.

  • try not to throw your body at him so much and give a little bend in your body! dont forget to keep your heels downn too! and try and balance your leg beettter, but nice job! :)

  • Nice work... Make sure you really rise into that jumping position!

  • good job! but make sure you go more into 2 point and go with the horse a little more, because as the jumps get higher you will need to do that in order to stay on! lol :)
