What happened to the barking seals at 2:45?

@yoursaxman you're right, that's one of the key differences I noticed when I compared my vinyl copy and the '95 remix... The original mix has also a surround feel even though it's in stereo...the drums and the bass are more prominent in the mix too, which is a delight on The Real Me, for example...

@nosmokingpistol77 I'm 33, and finally discovered The Who in it's entirety last year...including Quad...the whole album moves me, and this particular track always brings tears to my eyes when I listen to it...I have no words for Pete's genius and to describe how amazing is The Who in every way...

Entwistle is a god, the bass on this track is crazy.

the best of pete and his brilliance , but roger, keith and john were the secret ingredients that made the who magic .

@yoursaxman No, you're not losing your mind. There are a lot of little nuances (like the one you mentioned) on the entire album, that were "cleaned up" (i.e. removed) in the 1996 remix/remaster by Jon Astley. Very annoying, IMO. Another example is during "Cut My Hair", right befor the verse "The kids at school, have parents that seem so cool..." On the original release right before that verse you can hear a voice that sounds like Pete's say "Come on". But in the remaster, it's edited out. Grr.
