Shevri portrays the life of a middle-aged woman - Neena Kulkarni who lives in a rented place with another woman - Mita Vasisht in Mumbai. The woman can"t return home one particular night because her flatmate"s boyfriend is visiting. As usual, she plans to go to Nasik and visit her mum and son for the weekend. However, her plan falls through and she ends up spending the night out in the city. Her experiences and her story, which are disclosed in flashbacks, are brilliantly portrayed.

The woman is a bundle of contradictions. She is afraid to leave her boss's cabin to catch a train. She meekly puts up abusive husbands, housemates, even her son! And yet, she has no trouble putting her head in the lion's mouth, which is what walking around alone in the night in the big bad city amounts to. All in all, I could not empathize with the main character at all.
