Front impact
The passenger compartment remained stable during the impact. Stiff structures in the dashboard presented a risk of injury to the driver's knees and femurs but protection of the passenger was rated as good for all body regions.

Side impact
The Ka was tested without the optional thorax and head protecting side impact airbags. The car transmitted forces unrealistically into the dummy, causing readings in the chest to appear better than they might be in a human. The car was penalised for this and chest protection was rated as marginal.

Child occupant
In the frontal impact, the 1½ year dummy recorded high decelerations in the chest. In the side impact, the head of the 3 year dummy rotated around the side of the restraint and was at risk of contacting parts of the car's interior. The presence of ISOFIX anchorages in the rear outboard seats was not clearly marked. However, the label warning of the danger of placing a rearward facing child restraint in the front passenger's seat without first disabling the airbag was clear, permanently attached and available in the languages of every European country in which the car is sold.

Pedestrian
While the bumper scored maximum points for its protection of pedestrians' legs, the Ka was rated as predominantly poor in all other areas. The front edge of the bonnet scored no points and the bonnet surface provided poor protection over most of its surface.
