CHARLIE'S ANGELS/Season Five features new "Angel" actress Tanya Roberts ("Julie Rogers") teamed with returning series veterans Jaclyn Smith ("Kelly Garrett"), Cheryl Ladd ("Kris Munroe"), David Doyle ("John Bosley"), and the voice of John Forsythe ("Charles Townsend"). Not only could "Julie Rogers" magnificently fill out a bikini—(pause for reader groans)—she revealed she had a truly winning personality—upbeat and can-do. Helpful, caring, and a determined sleuth, Julie earned both personal favor and professional stripes with the "Townsend Agency." An interesting (and cute) Tanya quirk: her voice was reminiscent of Kate Jackson's. The first seven episodes of Season Five were shot on location in Hawaii—and, although actor Jack Lord never made an appearance, some familiar faces (Zulu, Soon-Tek Oh) from his recently-ended TV series HAWAII FIVE-O did contribute. Story/script quality varied considerably during this abbreviated and final season: from the clever ("Island Angels"; "He Married an Angel") to the absurd ("To See an Angel Die"; "Stuntwomen Angels"; more) to an emotional finale ("Let Our Angel Live"). Tanya Roberts—game, capable, and committed—never turned in a poor performance and always looked like a million.

Four years after appearing in CHARLIE'S ANGELS, a ravishing, plucky, and blonde Tanya Roberts starred opposite Roger Moore ("James Bond") in his final 007 cinematic adventure "A View to a Kill." Excerpts from the film's soundtrack—composed and/or performed by John Barry and Duran Duran—can be heard in this video.

well done. I am thinking if she had joined the cast in Season 4,it may have saved the show. Both Smith and Ladd do look tired and ready for the season to end. Too bad, Tanya really did put some spark into the series.

Agreed. TR is clearly the most inspired actress in Season Five. I think Cheryl confessed somewhere to "going through the motions" the final season, and "Kelly Garrett" didn't enjoy a single demanding script.

I like your point, Piratej. Hawaii had certainly been "over-exposed" as a location for filming after more than a decade of HAWAII FIVE-O. I like the idea of the Angels in Italy.

Tanya Roberts is beautiful and her "look" fit in with the other angels, but her acting was noticeably weak. Despite what some critics have said, the other 5 actresses who played Charlie's angels were great actresses. Farrah Fawcett proved that she could play light hearted parts as well as serious dramas like The Burning Bed. Every time I watch Tanya, I can't help but think about how bad her acting was, but I still love all 5 seasons of the show.

A View to Kill by Duran Duran seems fitting for a video featuring Tanya Roberts as Julie Rogers on Charlie's Angels considering that Tanya was also a Bond Girl in that very James Bond film of the same name, A View to a Kill.

Tanya was indeed a perfect angel. But so was Shelley. They were so different and each one brought something special to the show's legacy. Basically, they replaced the unglamorous angel, Kate Jackson, with Shelley, the chicest, most refined angel. Then they replaced Shelley, who proved to be rather uptight, with Tanya, who was the toughest, coolest, most bad ass angel of them all. All different personalities and slightly different tones to each season of an iconic show.
