Well that sucks then because according to the article "FireWire 800 compared to Serial ATA (SATA) -- 2 and 4 drive sets" (Goole it), Firewire 800 is just way too slow and who wants the extra external junk anyway, it should be IN the machine, not only faster, but also cheaper.
