Defining Modesty for a Christian Woman

So how do I decide what is modest dress?

This scripture is truly God breathed. It is an admonition to Christians.

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

People disagree with the Bible and Christians yet they go about roaming Christian channels and websites seeking whom they may devour with their words and deeds.

"Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice" Jesus Christ.

Plus modesty is really more about what's in the heart than in attitre.

As a Christian, I headcover out of modesty. I don't believe that it's required of Christians, I just prefer to do it because it's much more modest than not wearing any head covering.

@kaledonia1983 In the same scripture it talks about her hair being her covering. And cut hair is the same as having no hair at all. So cut hair.. no covering. So instead of a veil.. I don't ever cut my hair.

honestly while i think that Christian women don't have to cover their heads (but if God puts it in their heart to wear a hijab type thing then bless God because He has done with me) i think that women should dress modestly to not be a stumbling block for our Christian brothers and cause them to lust for us but we can still look cute, we dont have to look frumpy but we dont have to look like a streetwalker either. I love my Christian family out there.! <3

@thelyniezian Because there aren't any 100% proofs. There are no guarantees...only thousands of beliefs. Beliefs aren't always truths.

@msKCleigh You still assunme that "no-one knows". Some people *do* know. They are relating what they know, by their experiences. And some of those experiences should leave little doubt as to the reality of God in their lives.

@thelyniezian I guess we will know when we die, or not. I just won't begin to tell people how to live according to faith, when no one knows.

@thelyniezian I believe in God but your bible verses really don't mean anything to people who don't. I'm just saying that the truth is impossible to know. I believe in God, I probably don't believe everything you do. Life isn't rational. Who is to say that what you believe is the absolute truth? Who is to say that Christians, Jews, Muslims, Atheists or any other believers or non believers are completely wrong or completely right. Honestly, I don't think anyone has it exactly right.
