I was trying to do my first set of 3-Strand twists, but they didn't want the way I wanted....so I went ahead and did the regular ol' two-strand twists.

For the entire process I used the following:
TIGI Moisture Maniac Shampoo and Conditioner, Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Hair & Scalp Treatment, Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in Conditioner(before blowing-out my hair), Shea butter oil, Unrefined Shea Butter, Organic Root Stimulator Lock and Twist Gel, ECO Styler Gel and Aloe Oil (phew..that sounds like a lot..lol..but my hair is ooohhh sooo soft ;)!!).

  • this is beautiful! but it must be a hassal to take out cuz they are SMALL

  • @sweetdimpelzz Hey, sorry for the late reply. but it really is not bad, since you don't take them out 1-by-1. I take about 10 or 20, add conditioner, and start brushing them out with my Denman ;)! They are out in no time!

  • This is really pretty! I have a couple questions :) Do you part your hair for each twist or just grab little sections? How long does this last? Thanks :)

  • Thanks :)! Well, I simply grabbed little pieces and just tried to make sure they are all about the same size. It lasted me for almost three weeks, but depending on the hair type it might last a little longer or not as long. My hair is really soft so they started coming apart...hope this helped ;).

  • Thanks for the quick reply! I'm having a baby in 4 weeks, and wanted to do this so i don't have to mess around so much with my hair. Maybe i'll wait another week or so, so i know they will stay in longer (we have similiar textures). :) Thanks again.

  • congrats :)! and yes, i would wait as well ;)...

  • Hi! Your hair is so pretty! We have our Totally Twisted Creative Style contest going on right now and you can use this style to enter! Be sure to inbox me and watch my video on it for more info :) God bless you! I look forward to seeing your entry video!

  • Do you mean Pretty Wings by Maxwell? Lol. And I've been doing that hairstyle for years now. I love it!

  • Your hair is gorgeous.

  • @ntothehb Thank you. I will be mixing away today! (I also live in a very dry climate so that may contribute to the crispy feel).

  • @funkyredhead1 Haha, yes...I am a product junkie! sad but true ;)! The only time I use the gel is when I twist, and I use it with the unrefined shea butter, so maybe if you use more of the shea butter and less of the gel, it'll be less crispy (mine generally isn't crispy at all). Hope this helps.

  • so if u have curly hair its a plus for if u tryna get two strand twists? i dont have kinky or curly hair or afro nappy hair lol idk what my hair type is but i just bought that organic root stimulator lock and twist gel and ima design the front part of my head and the rest will be n layers of two strand twists....
