As Chair of the Cebu-based Salvador and Pilar Sala Foundation, Inc. (SPSFI), Dr. Ingrid Sala Santamaria initiated activities that would enhance SPSFI's Ten-year Music Development Program (1991 - 2000) that produced the Cebu Youth Symphony Orchestra (CYSO, launched in 1995), the Peace Philharmonic Philippines (PPP, launched in 2000), the PPP Junior Ensemble, and the PPP String Quartets.

Eminent Philippine flutist Dr. Santiago Yangco was among many artists who came to Cebu to give inspiring workshops and performances for CYSO and PPP, and on October 9, 1993, Santamaria was his Assisting Pianist in a RECITAL at the Pilar B. Sala (PBS) Concert Hall. Such recitals helped to develop the Cebu community's awareness and exposure to CLASSICAL MUSIC as well, realizing its value and importance in everyone's daily lives.

The Yangco-Santamaria program included: J. S. Bach Sonata in E-flat Major; F. Kuhlau Sonata in e minor; S. Prokofiev Sonata in d minor; 3 Filipino pieces - Cavatina by N. Abelardo, Minamahal Kita by M. Velarde, and Ang Maya by J. Estela; and Fantasie Brillante on themes from "Carmen" by G. Bizet - F. Borne.
